Eliminating risk with Lean UX
Late last year, Adam saw something on LinkedIn which really pissed him off. It was a post which blamed UX designers for the rise of bland, repetitive website designs and suggested that they're killing creativity in design. This is something Adam fundamentally disagrees with. UX removes an element of risk from the design process but if anything, properly executed it leads to the opposite of ‘homogenised brands and websites’ - in fact, UX design enables braver creativity.
The talk will cover:
Intro to user-centred design
Removing RISK from startup, product and website launches

Argument against post
Conclusion - Less risky but just as beautiful - the best of both worlds.
Adam runs a small UX design agency in Bristol, focused on user centred design and strategy within the digital product and ecommerce space and work with a number of startup and small businesses including Immersive Labs here in Bristol. Adam fundamentally believe that UX design enables braver design. Why? Because true UX allows people to create new, original designs and test them with users. Sharing that evidence enables decision makers to stop watering down potentially brilliant, innovative exciting design due to the assumption people won’t like it or won’t be able to use it. And that process, done properly, will always lead to something far from homogenised. It’ll lead to something which is bespoke to that business and their users. But, this can only happen when users are involved.
